The term to term rule is the difference between the numbers in the sequence, like this:-

2, 4, 6, 8

the gap is 2+ so your answer would be=+2

but if you have a question like this:-

1, 4, 9, 16 you need to add the term positions like this:

1 2 3 4

1 4 9 16 - Noticed anything? I have! 1 squares is 1, 2 squared is 4, 3 squared is 9, and 4 squared is 16, so you write your answer like this- n2

N stands for for the term position, the 2 means squared, as you square the terms!

Always happy to help!

A Maths Metaphor Is A contribution To Sir James Harrison. We Say All Metaphors Have To Include The Number 98 In It Because that's how old Sir J Harrison Was When He Died. Here Are Some Examples of Maths Metaphors: 234 Divided By 798 324 Divided By 987 There is also a rule that A Maths Metaphor Has to Include The Following Numbers: 234 789. It Also Has to be Divided. If It is not It Will Not Count As A Math Metaphor Instead Be a Maths Adjective.
