Euler is most probably up there in the mathematics applicable to physics and elsewhere, his name is everywhere (and things have been named after other people which were discovered by him). Gauss is another big name from the physical perspective and from informatics (being mostly applied mathematics) Turing is miles ahead of anyone else.

Research has shown that there are a number of great mathematicians over the centuries. According to research some of the top ones are Leonhard Euler who was said to be as brilliant as Einstein, Carl Friedrich Gauss who made his first discovery as a teenager, and G.F. Bernhard Riemann who has a wide range of theorems named after him.
