(3x + 2)(x + 2) so x = -2/3 or -2
2x^2 + 8x + 3 = 0
x2+8x = -3x2+5 4x2+8x-5 = 0 (2x+5)(2x-1) = 0 x = -5/2 or x = 1/2
3x2 + 2x = 16 ∴ 3x2 + 2x - 16 = 0 ∴ 3x2 - 6x + 8x - 16 = 0 ∴ 3x(x - 2) + 8(x - 2) = 0 ∴ (3x + 8)(x - 2) = 0 ∴ x ∈ {-8/3, 2}
3x2 + 17x + c = 0, rearranging gives c = -3x2 - 17x
- 8x + 8x = 0 so question is meaningless.
no
x2-5-4x2+3x = 0 -3x2+3x-5 = 0 or as 3x2-3x+5 = 0
You should use parentheses in your equation to reduce ambiguity. As it is, I can't really tell if the equation means (3x2) - 8x +4 = 0, or if it means 3x(2-8)x +4 = 0. Do you see the difference? Operations inside a parenthesis are done first. Otherwise, we don't know what order is required. And the results are very different.
x3 + 2x2 - 8x + 5 = 0 x(2x - 8) + 5 = 0
If you mean: 3x2+8+5 = 0 Then it crosses the x axis at points -1 and -5/3
8x + 32 + 24 = 0 So 8x + 56 = 0 Subtract 56 from both sides: 8x = -56 Divide both sides by 8: x = -7
