Lets try to solve step by step:
Let the present age of father and son be x and y years.
5 years ago....
fathers age is x-5
sons age is y-5
By the question,
(x-5)+(y-5)=60
or, x+y-10=60
or,x+y=60+10
=70
x+y=70................................................(1)
5 years later
fathers age is x+5
sons age is y+5
By the question,
(x+5)-(y+5)=30
x-y=30
x-y=30..............................................(2)
Adding 1 and 2 we will get
x+y+x-y=70+30
2x=100
x=50
Fathers 50 is present age .
2 years after 52
Sons age (70-50)=20
2 years from now is 22.
