the formular for area of a two dimesional object is:

L (length) x W (width) = L x W = A

Perimiter is figured out by:

(L x 2) + (W x 2)= P

So the area will be:

14 x 9 = 126 square feet

Perimiter:

(14 x 2) + (9 x 2) = 28 + 18 = 46 feet

The length of a rectangle is 3 inches less than twice the width if the perimeter or the rectangle is 18 inches find the width of the rectangle?

Let L be the length of the rectangle and W the width, then L = 2W - 3. The perimeter = 2L + 2W = 2(2W - 3) + 2W = 6W - 6 But the perimeter measures 18"so, 6W - 6 = 18 : 6W = 24 : W = 4 The width of the rectangle is 4".
