It depends on what the shape is. There are relatively simple formulae for triangles, circles, parallelograms, regular polygons; and more complicated formulae for ellipses, irregular polygons and other shapes.

If the shape can be described algebraically, then integration may provide an answer.

Then there are non-analytical methods for very irregular shapes. You can get an estimate by mapping the shape onto a grid and counting the number of squares covered and part covered. Or you can cut out an identical shape from a uniform lamina and compare its mass to the mass per unit area.

The area of a rectangle is found by multiplying the length times the width.

How do you found the height of rectangle?

There is no "height" of a rectangle, unless it's a rectangular prism. Do you mean the length? If you have the area of the rectangle, the equation should be:A= L x WPlug in the area and the length and solve for the width, or plug in the area the width of the rectangle, and solve for the length.

Can the area of any rectangle be found by squaring one of the sides?

yes

What is the area of of a rectangle 4m x 3.5m?

The area of a rectangle is found by multiplying its length by its width, so the area of a rectangle that measures 4m x 3.5m is 14 square meters.

Why do you have to cut the area of a triangle in half?

Because otherwise you would have found the area of the rectangle/square (the rectangle/square being if you put two of the triangles together).

The area of rectangle?

Rectangle area = (rectangle width) x (rectangle height)

What is the area of a rectangle?

The area of a rectangle is found by using the formula A=LxW (Area equals length times width)The area of a rectangle is calculated by multiplying the length by the width - the result is square measure. A rectangle 6 inches by 8 inches would be 48 square inches in area. (6x8=48)ExampleA=LxWA=4x5A=20

How do you fine the volume of a rectangle?

A rectangle is a two-dimensional or plane figure it therefore does not have a volume. It has an area which is found by multiplying the length by the width.
