divide by width
Area = length x width Length = area/width
You divide area by length or area/length.
If Length * Width = Area, then Area ÷ width = Length
Area = (length) times (width)Length = (area) divided by (width)Width = (area) divided by (length)
Area = Length * Length Area = Length2 Length = Area Length = 230 Length = 15.16575..... -Oliver Crow
Area is length x length, or length squared.
The length and width are factors of the area.
When length gets longer the area will be larger. As the length gets shorter the area will be smaller.
To calculate the length when you have both the width and the area, you can use the formula for the area of a rectangle: Area = Length × Width. Rearranging this formula to solve for length gives you Length = Area ÷ Width. If you only have the width and length, you can directly use the length value provided.
Area = Length x Width if Width = 4.5, and Area = 40.95, then 40.95 / 4.5 = Length Length = 9.1
Width * Length = Area so..... Width = Area / Length
