Say for example the fraction you wanted to convert was 3 fifths or 3/5.

Then you type into your calculator 3 divided by 5.

This would give you 0.6 and that is the decimal version!

Is 7 over 8 greater than or less than 24 over 25?

7/8 is less than 24/25 Either convert the fractions to equivalent fractions with a common denominator and compare the numerators, or convert them to decimals and compare directly. I prefer fractions: lcm of 8 & 25 is 200. 7/8 = 175/200 24/25 = 192/200 175 < 192 ⇒ 7/8 < 24/25 Using decimals: 7/8 = 0.875 24/25 = 0.96 0.875 < 0.96 ⇒ 7/8 < 24/25
