If you are referring to Ladder network in digital circuit or digital to analog conversion the ladder means cascading of component which are R-2R ladder circuit from conversion of analog to digital. it is used for obtaining the low value of resistance.
You can find out the base by the following way.. Let us consider the example: (25/3)=7 To find its base let as assume it has base r.. Now find the value of r by converting the nums in decimal: (2r+3)/3=7 (As 25 in base r is equal to 2*(r^1) + 5*(r^0) in decimal) 2r+3=21 2r=21-3 2r=18 r=9
