4n2 + 11n - 3

The following method is mathematically correct but may not be taught in school so be careful about using it.

Multiply the last term by the coefficient of the first term:

4n2 + 11n - 12

Reduce the power of n in the first term by one and write them as the first terms in two binomial expressions:

(4n )*(4n ).

Find 2 factors of the last term (12), and since it is negative, the difference between these two factors should be the middle term (1 and 12). The larger of these takes the same sign as the middle term (so +12) and the other takes the opposite sign (-1).

Write these as the second terms in the binomial expressions.

(4n +12)*(4n - 1).

Finally, divide out the 4 from the first bracket [this is to offset the earlier multiplication by 4] to give the answer:

(n + 3)*(4n - 1)

It depends on what you wanted to do - graph it, solve it, factorise it, etc.

A equation which contains a squared variable?

Squared means to the power 2. An wxample would be x2 = 25.

What is the equation of a circle whose radius is 7 in?

General formula for a circle is X squared + Y squared = radius squared. So the answer would be x squared + y squared = 2.64575131 squared

To find the circumference of a circle the equation would be pi multiplied by diameter, or radius squared. the answer would be 31.415 units squared.

What is 2x squared plus 9x plus 10?

if you want to factorise it then it will become (2x + 5)(x + 2) if it was equal to something then you would work it out differently. hope this helps

What if using Pythagorean theorem find a leg of a triangle with a hypotenuse of thirteen and a side length of twelve?

If you are trying to get the measure of a leg, you just have to substitute into the pythagorean theorem. so the equation would be a (squared) + 12 (squared) = 13 (squared). I used "(squared)" because i dont know how to put in exponents on my computer x.x anyways after simplifying it would end up as a (squared) + 144 = 169 then subtract 144 from both sides leaving you with a squared = 25. lastly, square root both sides and the answer would end up being a=5. "a" being the side with the unknown length. hope this helps :D

What is the answer to 6x squared minus 5x minus 11?

There can be no answer since there is no equation: only an expression. It is possible to factorise the expression as follows: 6x2 - 5x - 11 = 6x2 + 6x - 11x - 11 = 6x(x + 1) - 11(x + 1) = (x + 1)(6x - 11) Just to add, if you meant 6x2 - 5x - 11 = 0, then the above factorise would give you either (x+1) = 0, or (6x-11)=0, so x=-1 or 11/6

How do you factor 2x squared minus 13x plus 15?

This is a quadratic equation, and so you it falls under the rule: ax squared + bx + c. This means you need to times the 2x squared by 15, which is 30. Then you need to find the factors of thirty, i.e. 3 and 10, 15 and 2, 5 and 6. You need to find the pair of factors that add to make -13x, which would be -3 and -10. you then need to put these into the equation - it would become 2x squared -10x (as one equation) and -3x +15 would be another equation. we can see that 2x squared and -10x have 2x in common, and so the answer for that would be 2x (x - 5). the second equation would be -3 (x - 5). the two equations have x - 5 in common, and that would make up the first set of brackets. you then add the rest (2x - 3) and your answer would be (x - 5) (2x - 3).

How do you foil 2x squared plus 7x plus 5?

This is a quadratic equation, and so you it falls under the rule: ax squared + bx + c. This means you need to times the 2x squared by 5, which is 10. Then you need to find the factors of ten, i.e. 2 and 5, 10 and 1. You need to find the pair of factors that add to make 7x, which would be 2 and 5. you then need to put these into the equation - it would become 2x squared + 2x (as one equation) and 5x + 5 would be another equation. we can see that 2x squared and 2x have 2x in common, and so the answer for that would be 2x (x + 1). the second equation would be 5 (x + 1). the two equations have x + 1 in common, and that would make up the first set of brackets. you then add the rest (2x +5) and your answer would be (x+1) (2x+5). FOIL is a different method used for 'easier' equations - less complicated. :)

An equation that contains a squared variable?

They are something like 4 to the power of 2. It has to be 2. The answer would be 4X4=16.

What is x-squared minus 2 x plus 15?

It is impossible but if it were x squared plus 2x minus 15 the equation would be (x+5) (x-3) with x being equal to either -5 or 3. If the original problem was x squared minus 2x minus 15 the equation would be (x-5)(x+3) and x would be equal to either 5 or -3

Factor x squared minus y squared?

( x - y )2There isn't enough information to answer this question because they have two squared variables and you do not know what is being squared. You would first need to either know the value of one of the variables and an equation of the value of both of the variables before you would be able to factor.
