The answer depends very much on your aptitude, and possibly your interest: there are no absolutes. Some people find calculus easy but not linear algebra and others are the opposite.

Calculus is higher than Algebra. There are also courses on Linear Algebra and Differential Equations that are higher than college Algebra. If you contact the Math department of any college they should be able to give you a specific answer as to what courses they correspond with and what a challenging math class would be.
Can you take precalculus and algebra 2 trig at the same time?
No, you can't. Although similar in concepts, Pre-Calculus is more advanced than Algebra 2. Algebra 2 is taken between Algebra 1 and Geometry or after Geometry and before Pre-Calculus. The reason that you can't take both at the same time is because of the curriculum. Pre-Calculus does not spend nearly as much time on linear topics (linear equations, linear programming, etc.) as Algebra 2 does. Pre-Calculus also almost always is 2 courses in one: Pre-Calculus and Trigonometry. Algebra 2 has very little, if any, trig. Topics that they have in common are quadratics equations/functions, polynomial equations/functions, rational functions, exponential & logarithmic functions (sometimes these are not covered in Algebra 2), possibly conic sections in Algebra 2, definitely in Pre-Calculus, factoring, and probability/sequences/series/statistics. In addition to trigonometry, pre-calculus also covers polar and parametric topics (these will NEVER NEVER NEVER be seen in Algebra 2) and an introduction to limits. So, you must take Algebra 2 before pre-calculus. If you want to take 2 math courses in 1 year, try algebra 1 and geometry (not very common), algebra 2 and geometry (somewhat common), and some schools allow honors students with a solid A in Algebra 2 (assuming you took Algebra 2 before Geometry, this differs between schools) allow you to take geometry and pre-calculus in the same year. The study of proofs is not a major topic in pre-calculus, and proofs make up a majority of geometry.

There are always other problems harder than what is called "calculus III" But what is learnt in calculus III is just basically the "stepping stone" for what is needed for more advanced math in later subjects, such as theoretical physics, protein folding, etc... For me, I determined that Calculus II was the hardest calculus course, then Calculus I, then Calculus III being the easiest. After that... there is linear algebra.... and don't let its name fool you just by having the word "algebra" in it... it is pretty much a HUMONGOUS pain in the buttocks

No calculus is harder, because calculus is basically a combination of algebra and trigonometry, so you need algebra to do calculus. Also, calculus involves limits, differentiation, and integration. Integration makes algebra look like kindergarten. +++ Meaningless question, ditto with the answers I'm afraid. These are not separate entities but all fields of mathematics, and you use algebra in expressing and solving mathematical problems. Calculus is NOT "basically a combination of algebra and trigonometry". You can differentiate and integrate trig. functions, but although calculus alone does not rely on trigonometry for its existence, its manoeuvres are all algebraic steps. As to comparative difficulty, that is entirely down to you. If you find algebra difficult you will find trigonometry and calculus difficult, because algebra is used to describe those two (and any other) mathematical process. Algebra is not an isolated topic!

You have to be solid in algebra 1, algebra 2 and geometry because it combines the 3 classes and adds more to it. Even then it can still be pretty challenging. If you are not prepared to do all of the work and study then it can be the hardest class you take in highschool. Some say it is harder than actual calculus.

Will you fail calculus if you are good at algebra?
You'll certainly not fail BECAUSE you are good at algebra - you need to know algebra well, to understand calculus. So, it is not guaranteed that you will succeed, but if you are good at algebra, your chances are certainly a lot better than if your are not good at algebra.
