What is the remote switch wire for an ATX or BTX power switch connected to?

motherboard

When using the remote for a Hunter fan-light the light will not turn on-off using the remote-it will turn on-off using the wall switch but the fan will turn on-off using the remote Any ideas?

The fan is wired to the house wrong. Typically the red switch wire in the ceiling box will be nutted off and not used when a remote is installed. Sounds like, in this case, the fan light wire (blue) was connected to the red switch wire in the ceiling box instead of being correctly connected to the remote unit at the fan.

Is it possible to wire a dimmer switch off another dimmer switch for a completeley different light?

No, the dimmer switch needs its own individual circuit power supply to feed the fixtures connected to it. The black of the second dimmer switch can not be connected to the red wire of the first dimmer switch. Now if you are talking about using a common "hot" to feed two dimmer switches then this can be done. The neutrals will be common also. So what you should have is two black wires connected together with the incoming "hot". Two neutrals connected together with the incoming white. The red from each dimmer is then connected to its own individual fixture load.

How do you install a doorbell with four wires both having black and red wires?

It depends on what the wires are connected to and where the power supply is located. If the switch is lighted power has to get to the switch for the light. With a lighted switch you have a hot supply side, a neutral and then the wire going to the bell. So if Black 1 and Red 1 are supply voltage you would connect Red 1 to the hot side of switch, Black 1 would go to common as would Black 2. Red 2 would go to Bell side of the switch.

How do you switch poles in electromagnetic field?

You get a battery, switch, nail and copper wire. You connect one end of the battery to the switch and the other end to the nail that is wrapped with some copper wire. The end of the switch that isn't connected you connect to the electromagnet.

All three legs of my dimmer are hot?

If the hot is connected to the supply and it is turned on and the switch is turned on and the neutral not connected this could be quite true. Connect the neutral to the supply neutral and shut the switch off. Now the only reading that you should get is the hot supply.

How does a remote control operate a switch from a distance?

The remote control sends a radio signal to the base unit, and the base unit interprets the signal to switch the connected appliance on or off. Some remote control can operate multiple switches from a distance.

Why switch is always connected in the phase?

Switches are used to isolate the supply voltage from the connected load. This isolation is needed to be able to work on equipment in the de-energized state. Without the switch in the circuit this could not be accomplished.

How do you replace gas fireplace switch?

This depends on the switch. A lot of older fireplaces have a millivolt valve with a toggle-switch sticking out. We usually remove the toggle switch and run the 2 wires that were connected to the toggle to a remote receiver box. This way any simple remote transmitter will act like an electrical toggle switch. Most receivers will recognize hundreds of thousands of signals so this is usually very convenient and takes about 3 minutes to turn a manual switch into a remote switch.
