all error value are suppose to be prefixed by a +/- symbol to show that they can be either + or -. As everybody understands this they just forget about it.

Can negative numbers be absolute values?

never

Why should a absolute value never negative?

Because that is the definition of absolute values

Is the absolute value of a positive integer a negative integer?

Absolute values are never negative. The opposite, or negative, or additive inverse, of a negative number is the number's absolute value; a non-negative number is its own absolute value. The absolute values of 7 and -5, are, respectively, 7 and 5.

Can Probabilities take on negative values only when the events are occurring less than 50 percent of the time?

Probabilities can never be negative. A probability distribution is defined as follows:Every event has a probability of occurring between 0 and 1, inclusive. The sum of the probabilities of each event occurring is 1.

Negatives are never absolute values WHY?

The absolute value is the distance from 0 on the number line. -5 is 5 away from 0. You cannot have a negative distance, therefore you cannot have a negative absolute value. Absolute values are not ALWAYS positive because absolute values can be zero as well. Zero is not positive nor negative.

Log -3 equals?

There is no answer - it is an error: negative numbers do not have logarithms. The log if a number tells to what power the (positive) base must be raised to get the number. Raising any positive number to any power will never result in a negative number, so it is an error to try and take the log of a negative number.

What is the percent error formula?

Percent Error is the difference between the true value and the estimate divided by the true value and the result is multiplied by 100 to make it a percentage. The percent error obviously can be positive or negative; however, some prefer taking the absolute value of the difference. The formula is the absolute value of the experimental value (minus) the theoretical value divided by theoretical value times 100. % error = (|Your Result - Accepted Value| / Accepted Value) x 100

Can an exponential decay model have negative y values?

An exponential function can have negative y-values. However, a real-world exponential decay model will never have negative values. Think of it this way... If you divide a positive number by 2 (or take half of it) and then divide that next number by 2, you will never reach or go below 0. For Example: 20, 10, 5, 2.5, 1.25, 0.625, 0.3125, etc. (Each number is half of the number before it.)

Is negative 49 a probability?

No, it's not a probability since it's not set in terms of ratio of two values, such that the second value is greater than the first. For instance: 1 to 2 or 1 / 2. Also, probability is never negative.

Can a surd be negative?

No, surds can never be negative.

What values can chi square never have?

When adding two negative rational numbers the sum will be negative sometimes never always?

Never.
