It is then called as prime numbers because only Prime number 1 is divisible to any prime numbers.

For example:

- 11 is a prime number because only 1 can be divisible to it and cannot be divide by 2 or any whole numbers..(i.e. 1, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, etc.)

or

It is a prime number if its only two factors are itself and one for example; 7, its only factors are 1 and 7.
