You cannot graph a line by only knowing the point in which a slope passes through. You need to either know two coordinate points (which is what the slope passes through), or you need to know the slope-intercept equation to graph a line (slope-intercept equation is y=mx+b).

How do you graph the equation y equals x - 3?

y = x - 3The graph is a straight line, passing through the point [ y = -3 ] on the y-axis,and having a slope of [ 1 ].

How do you graph the slope of a function?

For example, if the slope at a certain point is 1.5, you can draw a line that goes through the specified point, with that slope. The line would represent the slope at that point. If you want to graph the slope at ALL POINTS, take the derivative of the function, and graph the derivative. The derivative shows the slope of a function at all points.

What is the slope of the line represented by the equation y equals 7?

The graph of [ y = 7 ] is a straight horizontal line, passing through the point [ y = 7 ]on the y-axis. The slope of a horizontal line is zero.

Properties of a slope?

The slope of a line can be determined by examining the graph; only one line through a point has a particular slope.
