the easiest way of changing a number into a percent is when it is a fraction
for example, 2/25 --> 8%
because a percent has a denomenator of 100, so you multiply 25 by 4 and do the same with 2 to get 8/100 which is 8%
Now if its a decimal, then you can change it to a fraction and get your answer.
for example, 0.2 --> 2/10 --> 20%
0.02 --> 2/100 --> 2%
Hope you got it! :)
Divide the percent by 100 to convert to a fraction and then simplify. Whether or not it converts to a mixed number will depend on whether or not the percentage is greater than 100.
percent change
100% = 100/100350% = 350/100 = 35/10 = 7/2
percent of decrease
To change a number into a percent, multiply that number by 100%. Let's do some. 1 => 1 x 100% = 100% 1/2 => 1/2 x 100% = 50% 3/5 => 3/5 x 100% = 60% 9 => 9 x 100% = 900% 62 => 62 x 100% = 6200% It really is that simple.In order to change a whole number into a percent, you need to move the decimal place (if not apparent it is at the end) over two decimal places to the left. Example: to turn 39 into a percent, you move the decimal place 39. over two to make the new number .39.You can also divide the number by 100, this will get you the same answer. Personally, I find it easier to just move the two decimal places.
If the percent of change is negative, then it is wrong.
To change a number to a percent, multiply by 100: 16 x 100 = 1,600%
To change a percent into a fraction, divide the percent number by 100, and if you can, simplfy the fraction.
Whether the change is an increase or decrease . . . -- Divide the new number by the original number. -- Multiply the result by 100. -- Subtract 100. -- Now you have the percent of change.
multiply it by 100
73% = 0.73
Of course you can. Any number can be turned into a percent.
27 percent = 0.27 = 27/100. It can't equal a whole number.
100%
600% = 6, a whole number.
To change a percent to a number, move its decimal pointtwo places to the left. (That means divide it by 100.)
