First of all, you have to make sure that it's a RIGHT triangle. That means that one

of the angles in the triangle is 90 degrees. If not, then it's not a right triangle, and

it doesn't have a hypotenuse.

If it IS a right triangle, then the longest side is the hypotenuse.
