Graph the equation then find the x intercepts.
x=b-a
You don't "solve" an expression. You can solve an equation; an expression can be simplified or otherwise manipulated, and if you know the value of "x" (in this case), you can evaluate its value.
(20 - x)/5
x= -8
You cannot solve x plus y since that is an expression, not an equation (nor inequality).
(x4 + y4)/(x + y) = Quotient = x3 - x2y + xy2 - y3 Remainder = - 2y4/(x+y) So, x3 - x2y + xy2 - y3 - 2y4/(x+y)
By graphing the lines on the coordinated plane they will intersect at (2, -4) which is the solution of the equations
The solution consists of the infinite number of points on the line which is defined by y + x = 6.
2y4(16 - x4) = 2y4 (4 + x2)(4 - x2) = 2y4(4 + x2)(2 + x)(2 - x)
Graph the equation then find the x intercepts.
If you mean: y = 4x-2 and y = -x+3 then when plotted on the Cartesian plane the lines will intersect at (1, 2) because x = 1 and y = 2
How do you solve 4y plus x equals 8
Its kind of hard to draw a graph in pure text... Try plugging your equation into www.wolframalpha.com/ ;)
There are several ways to solve x2-x-12. The easiest way, if you have a graphing calculator, is to put y = x2-x-12 and y = 0 into the graph and then solve for the intercepts. A way to do it without a graphing calculator is by factoring. x2-x-12 factors into (x-4) and (x+3). Then set (x-4) and (x+3) each equal to zero and solve. (x-4)=0 becomes x=4. (x+3)=0 becomes -3. Therefore, the answers are -3 and 4.
2x + 2y = 44x + y = 1There are many methods you can use to solve this system of equations (graphing, elimination, substitution, matrices)...but no matter what method you use, you should get x = -1/3 and y = 7/3.
