First, change the mixed numbers into improper fractions. Like, 3 and 1/2 would be 7/2. Then, multiply it with another improper fraction. We'll say 5/4. So to get the new numerator you would go 5*7=35. Then, for the denominator, you would go 2*4=8. So your answer would be 35/8, or 4 and 3/8.

first you turn the mixed number into an improper fraction. then you cross simplify before you multiply.

Note: cross-simplifying is pretty much dividing the num. of one fraction by the deno. of the other and then vice-versa.

num: =numerator

deno. =denominator

How do you multiply fractions with whole numbers and mixed numbers?

The question is ambiguous. Do you want to know how to multiply a fraction by a whole number, as well as by a mixed number? Or are you asking how to multiply a whole number by a mixed number and express the product as a fraction? Or what?

How do you multiply mixed numbers by fractions?

Convert the mixed number to an improper fraction and proceed normally.

Steps for multipling fractions and mixed numbers?

to multiply fractions add them together and reduce the final fraction. to multiply mixed numbers, first make the mixed number an improper fraction, by mulitplying the whole number and the denominator and adding the answer to the numerator. Example: The improper fraction 8/5 can be changed to the mixed number 1 3/5 by dividing the numerator (8) by the denominator (5). This gives a quotient of 1 and a remainder of 3. The remainder is placed over the divisor (5).

Multiplying fractions and mixed numbers?

can't do it as is... you must convert the mixed number to an improper fraction to multiply To convert the mixed number to a fraction you multiply the denominator and the number in front and then add that to the numerator then you put that number over the original denominator ex. 2 1/3 = (3 x 2 + 1)/3 =7/3 then you can multiply: 7/3 X 4/5 = 28/15

How do you do a mixed fraction?

That's an ambiguous question. Numbers that are greater than one and occur between integers are known as "mixed numbers" since they contain an integer and a fraction together but they're still just numbers. We can "do" anything to them that we can do to integers. To convert a mixed number to an improper fraction, multiply the denominator by the whole number, add that total to the numerator and put the whole thing over the original denominator. 22/7 = 3 and 1/7
