The tangent of an angle is the ratio of the side opposite to the side adjacent (next to).

tan[angle] = opp/adj

the height of the tree is the opposite "side"

the midpoint to the tree is the adjacent side

you're given the angles for either tree

The real question is how much you trust Bozena to have taken accurate measurements? :D
