2x^2 + 3x - 20 = 0 is

2x^2 + 8x - 5x -20 = 0 is

2x(x + 4) -5(x + 4) = 0 is

(2x - 5)(x +4) = 0

Hence 2x -5 = 0 which gives x = 2.5 or x + 4 = 0 which gives x = -4
