You look for common factors between numerator and denominator, and then divide both numerator and denominator by that common factor.
For example, if you have the fraction 40/60, you immediately see that both numbers are multilples of 10. Dividing both by 10, you get 4/6. If you continue looking for common factors, you find that both are even, so you divide both by 2. The result in this case is 2/3.
You have to double the numerator, but the value of the fraction remians the same but if you dont double the numerator then you dont have the same fraction
To halve a fraction, double the denominator (the bottom number). To double a fraction, double the numerator (the top number).
To double a fraction double the numerator and keep the denominator unchanged.
If you double the denominator of any fraction, the number of unit fractions stays the same but each unit fraction is half as big. So the value of the fraction is half what it was when you double the denominator. 2×(5/8)=(2×5)/8=10/8
Double its denominator.
2/5
10
To double the value of a fraction you need to quite literally multiply it by 2. For example, if you wanted to double the value of 5/9 you would multiply 5/9 by 2 (2/1) so it would be 10/9.
The denominator is double the numerator.
Double the numerator. If the answer is greater than the denominator then the fraction is greater than half.Double the numerator. If the answer is greater than the denominator then the fraction is greater than half.Double the numerator. If the answer is greater than the denominator then the fraction is greater than half.Double the numerator. If the answer is greater than the denominator then the fraction is greater than half.
actaully a fraction well lets say that you have the number four okay so its a halh of four plus a double.
-3.5 = -3.5/1 = -7/2 (double the numerator and the denominator).
