Percentage Formula and How To Calculate the Percentage?

Basic Percentage Formula:

% = N/T%N

% = The percentage number

T%N = Total percentage number

N = The Number

/ = Over or Divide by

* = Times by

This is the most BASIC formula most people know. Most people don't know its a basic formula and is able to be changed. It is a simple form of algebra that I simply have thought of.

I will give examples through out this formula.

The example for the basic formula is:

You want to find your marks on a test which is 26/35.

How to do it? Use the formula! % = N/T%N

Which in this case is:

% = 26/35

Use a calculator and do it. When you get a decimal place, you may be unable to read this. Decimals, fractions and percentages are very much the same thing, it's only their view of the number which makes it unique. To make it simpler for this explanation is just to type in your calculator 26 divide by 35 times by a 100.

If you know algebra, you will know how to change this formula around. But if you don't know here are the other formulae you can make out of this basic formula:

Total Percentage Formula

If you want to find the Total Percentage number a certain number, use this formula:

T%N = N/%

For example:

In a game my experience is 700,000. And My Percentage of this is 40%. So by using the formula, it turns to this:

T%N = 700,000/0.4

This means 700,000 over 0.4 right? But in Maths, anything over something is a divide. So 700,000 over 0.4 is acutally 700,000 divide by 0.4. So you can use a calculator to do this and you will get your Total Percentage Number.

Number Percentage Formula

Now the next one is to get your number. Pretty easy. Most people know this too.

The formula is:

N = T%N/%(or in this case your friends)

For example:

I want to know how much apples each person gets, from 10 apples, if I share it equally with 5 of my friends. This becomes:

N = 10 apples / 5 friends

This gives us 2 apples per person, easy right?
