Either bus topology or star toplogy.

bus topology
What is the logical topology used for the Ethernet architecture?
Topology: physical ring of trees, logical ring
1.) Mesh topology:- Routing protocol such as RIP(routing information protocol) or OSPF (open shortest path protocol) is used. 2.) Star topology:- Ethernet, token ring, Local Talk, ATM........... all are used... 3.)Bus topology:- Ethernet protocol using CS-MA/CD as access method.....
Either a Bus topology or Wireless repeating, depends on how the question is stated...
Arpa encapsulation must be used to enable Ethernet II frame type on your Ethernet.
what type of cable would you used to create a ring topology?
Ethernet is easily the most common topology having replaced token ring in the 90's. Simply because of it's ease of use with CAT5 cabling, cheap networking hardware and not needing any termination.
Bus topology LANs are very rare these days. It would be easier to use a star topology than a bus topology for a few devices.
Star topology is like the network is done by easily adding another network and the most common cable is used unshielded twisted pair cable. For the star topology purpose, Cat5 and Cat6 cable is used because it is an unshielded and shielded twisted pair cable.

star network + guide to networks pg 105 Whoever answered that is a fool. Edition number? Yeah, guess you forgot. I have edition 5 here and that answer is not on page 105 or close to it either.
Star is a very popular design.
