Best Answer

For example I have these two equations: A: 3x - 2y = 50 B: x - 2y = 30 If I take A - B, align the equations' terms so the like terms are in one column: 3x - 2y = 50 x - 2y = 30 _________ , So I got (3x -x)= 2x; (-2y - -y) or (-2y + 2y) = 0 ; (50-30) = 20. 2x = 20 => x = 20/2 = 10
