Wire sizing is based on the load that the conductors carry. The breaker is then sized to protect the wire. To get to an amperage the wires are going to have to be paralleled. The calculations are already sized in the electrical code books, CEC and NEC. These are code books used by North America electricians.

A 500 MCM conductor with an insulation factor of 90 degrees C is rated at 430 amps.

Four 500 MCM conductors paralleled will give you an ampacity of 1720 amps. The breaker will need to have a 500 MCM 4 barrel lug to receive the conductors. The same thing with the load end, it will also need a four barrel 500 MCM lug.

Is 10mm cable safe for 50a breaker?

No, a 10mm cable should be used with no more than a 40A breaker for typical household wiring. Using a 10mm cable with a 50A breaker can lead to overheating and pose a fire hazard. It's important to follow the proper cable size guidelines to ensure safety.

What is the type and size of cable gland or 2 core cable?

To answer this question the size of the cable or the amperage of the load is needed to calculate the correct wire size and connectors to fit the cable.

What is the standard to select circuit breaker?

Add up your amps to calculate your breaker size. Add up your loads (amps), divide by 0.8, and choose that size breaker. If that number does not correspond to a standard size breaker you go to the next higher standard size breaker.

How calculate the cable size when give current?

The NEC has a table that shows what size cable to use with each amperage and where it can be used.

What is the smallest size circuit breaker found in the normal home?

The biggest circuit breaker in any home is the main breaker located in your main breaker panel that is installed where your electrical service cable comes into your home.

Could you Calculate cable size for 100 kw load?

To calculate the cable size for a 100 kW load, you would need to consider factors such as the voltage of the system, the type of cable insulation, the ambient temperature, and the installation method. The cable size is typically determined by the maximum current the cable will carry without overheating. Using the formula: Cable size (mm²) = (2 x L x I x R) / (√3 x V x cosΦ), where L is the cable length, I is the load current, R is the resistance of the cable, V is the voltage, and cosΦ is the power factor, you can calculate the appropriate cable size for the 100 kW load.

How do you calculate amp draw for 115v 1 phase and the breaker size?

To calculate the amp draw of a device you need to use one of the following three formula. I = W/E, I = E/R, I =√W/R. Once the amperage of the circuit is found then the size of the breaker can be established.

What is the cable size for 7.5kw slit system air conditioner?

The wire is sized to the maximum overcurrent protection device (Max circuit breaker) ampacity. This is listed on the nameplate of the outdoor condensing unit. Size the wire to match the breaker.
