If at least one vertex of the inner triangle lies on the side of the outer triangle then yes, it is a complex polygon. However, if none of the vertices of the inner triangle are on the sides of the outer triangle then there are two disjoint triangles and that does not represent a polygon.

What is the sum of the interior angles of a 8-sided polygon?

1080 ~ Well, here's how you can solve that: A triangle's interior has a measurement of 180. A square (and all quadrilaterals, which means a shape with four sides) has a measurement of 360. A pentagon has a measurement of 540. A heptagon has a measurement of 720. All you do to get the total angle measurement of more sided shapes (and in your case polygons) that go up from heptagon as well as below it, all you do is add to get the measurement of a larger interior, or subtract for a smaller interior.

What is a Scalene Acute Triangle?

A scalene triangle is one where each side is a different length. Acute means that the largest interior angle of the triancle is less than 90 degrees A triangle is one of the basic shapes of geometry: a polygon with three corners or vertices and three sides or edges which are line segments. A triangle with vertices A, B, and C is denoted Triangle (Trigon) ABC. Scalene triangle is a triangle in which all the sides of the triangle will be unequal. The angles of triangle will be unequal. In the above triangle, the sides of the triangle are 8 cm, 10 cm, and 16 cm. The Scalene Triangle has no congruent sides. The Acute Triangle has three acute angles (an acute angle measures less than 90°) Scalene triangles are unusual in that the are defined by what they are not. Most triangles drawn at random would be scalene. The interior angles of a scalene triangle are always all different. The converse of this is also true - If all three angles are different, then the triangle is scalene, and all the sides are different lengths.

If the midpoint of successive sides of a regular polygon are joined a smaller regular polygon is formed Find a polygon of such number of sides so that the area is half that of the larger?

The polygon is a Quadrilateral.

How do you draw a regular polygon having all angle equal 47?

The measure of the interior angle of a regular polygon is: theta = (n - 2) * 180 / n. So for our case, we have: 47 = (n - 2) * 180 / n. 47n = 180n - 360 -133n = -360 n = 360/133 As 360/133 is not an integer, we conclude that there is no regular polygon with interior angle 47. OR, if you prefer to learn graphically, consider that a triangle is the polygon with the fewest number of sides. As you increase the number of sides of a regular polygon, you increase the interior angle. Thus since the interior angle of a regular triangle is 60 degrees. Thus, in order to get an angle smaller than 60 degrees, we would need to have fewer sides than a triangle - which isn't possible.

What to regular polygons has a larger exterior angle?

An equilateral triangle is the only polygon in which the exterior angle is larger than the interior angle. They are equal in a square and smaller in all regular polygons with more sides,

Why is AAA not an appropriate conjecture for triangle congruence?

It does not necessarily prove congruence but it does prove similarity. You can have a smaller or bigger triangle that has the same interior angles.

In a regular polygon the ratio of the measure of the exterior angle to the measure of the adjacent interior angle is 4 to 1 how many sides does the polygon have Please show your work?

This is not possible for a normal regular polygon. (A regular polygon has all equal angles and all equal sides. A normal polygon has no intersecting edges.)The smallest regular polygon is an equilateral triangle (a three sided polygon), whose exterior angle measure is twice the measure of its interior angle. A four-sided polygon (a square) has equal interior and exterior angle measures of 90⁰. Starting from a five-sided polygon, the exterior angle measure is smaller than the interior angle measure.Let's assume that the given information is true. So we need to verify it.Let's say that the interior angle of the regular polygon has a measure of x degrees, and the measure of the exterior angle of that polygon is 4x degrees.Since the sum of the interior and the exterior angles of the polygon is 180 degrees (a straight line), the interior angle is 36 degrees.4x + x = 1805x = 1805x/5 = 180/5x = 36The sum of the angles of a polygon = 180⁰(n - 2), where n is the number of the sides of the polygon. The measure of one of the angles of a polygon = 180⁰(n - 2)/n. Substituting the angle measure of 36⁰ into this formula, we have:36⁰ = 180⁰(n - 2)/n (multiply by n to both sides)36⁰n = 180⁰(n - 2)36⁰n = 180⁰n - 360⁰ (add 360⁰ and subtract 36⁰n to both sides)360⁰ = 144⁰n (divide by 144⁰ to both sides)2.5 = n !!That means that a such normal polygon does not exist.

If each angle is 40 degrees how many sides does a polygon have?

A regular polygon cannot have internal angles smaller than 60 degrees. If each EXTERNAL angle is 40 degrees, the triangle has 360/40 = 9 sides.

Is the interior angle of a pentagon smaller or larger than the interior angle of a hexagon?

smaller

Do The interior angles of both a regular and irregular pentagon have a sum of 1080 degrees?

Yes. In the regular polygon, the angles are all equal parts of the 1,080 . In the irregular one, there are bigger and smaller interior angles, but they still add up to the same total.

What is the area of a larger polygon with a ratio of 8 7 with a smaller polygon when the area of the smaller polygon is 512 square meters?

It depends on whether the ratio applies to the areas or to the lengths of the sides.

Which has a larger interior diameter an 18 gauge or a 22 gauge?

18 G has the larger interior diameter. Gauges are based on AWG ( American Wire Gauge ) So therefore the higher the number the smaller the outside diameter, the lower the number the thicker the outside diameter is.
