a semicircle is half of a circle... so like a circle cut in half, in a straight line. just for some information you may also need in the future:

area of a semicircle: multiply the radius by itself and then multiply that by pi (approx. 3.14). divide that by 2.

perimeter (circumference) of a semicircle: pi times radius.
