The median is the middle number.
So for example:
2, 5, 4, 9, 7 x
Put them in order
2, 4, 5, 7, 9 x
Since you have an even amount of numbers, you need to take the 2 middle numbers, which are 5 and 7
5+7= 12 , 12 divided by 2 equals 6
x= 6
I had the same problem too one time..
Anyways, I hope this helped you!
Have a nice day :)
The Mean is the average of a given set of values. The Median is the value that has the same number of smaller values than the number of higher values, it is in the middle of them. In a symmetrical distribution the Mean is equal to the Median. In an asymmetrical distribution they have different value.
The median is the number in the middle. You find the median, by putting the values in order from lowest to highest, then find the number that is exactly in the middle. If you only have a single value, one could argue that it is in the middle. That would make the single value the median. One could also argue that there no numbers on either side to the definition makes no sense and there is no median of a single value.
It's the point for a set of points whose x-value is the median of all the given x-values and whose y-value is the median of all the given y-values. For example: (1,2) (2,1) (3,5) (6,4) (10,7) the median-median point would be (3,4)
To find the missing number when the median is given, you first need to determine the total number of values in the data set. If the total number of values is odd, the median will be the middle value. If the total number of values is even, the median will be the average of the two middle values. Once you have identified the median, you can work backward to determine the missing number based on its position relative to the median.
4,6,8,9,10,11, As given they are in Rank Ordert. For the Median, select the absolute middle value. However, when this cannot be done, because there are an even number of terms, we then taken the two middle values and find their mean. Hence (8 + 9) / 2 = 8.5 is the median value.

Given the median and trapezoid MOPN, what is the value of x?

Both median and mode are the statistics formulas, Median is called mid value of the given data and mode is the value which occure repetedly in the given data.

Min- the lowest value Q1- the median number between the actual median and the min Median- the "middle" number in the dataset Q3- the median number between the actual median and the max Max- the highest value

Your single number is your only information of the median value of the population, so the median value is the same as your single number. It is also the mode and mean of your sample.
The median of a single number, such as 23217981211, is itself.
In general, it is not possible to tell. For example, suppose the 5 given numbers are 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 and suppose that the median is 5. The sixth number could have any value less than or equal to 4.

It's impossible to tell given the data. The median is the value dividing the half of the elements above the value and the half below it.
