In any right angled triangle the sum to find the hypotenuse is:

Hypotenuse2 = a2 + b2 (where a and b are the other 2 sides)

Alternatively:

Hypotenuse2 - a2 (or b2 depending on the side you are trying to find) = b2 (or a2 depending on the side you are trying to find.

THE HYPOTENUSE IS ALWAYS THE LONGEST SIDE OF THE TRIANGLE.
