There is probably a sign missing in your equation.
If that was 8x - 5 = 2x + 5, then by subtracting 2x from both sides you would have
6x - 5 = 5 and by adding 5 to both sides you would have
6x = 10 and by dividing both sides by 6 you would have
x = 10/6 or 5/3 if you want the simplest form.
Check it by replacing x with 5/3
8(5/3) - 5 = 40/3 - 15/3 = 25/3
2(5/3) + 5 = 10/3 + 15/3 = 25/3
It checks.
(2x - 1)(2x + 5)
x2+8x = -3x2+5 4x2+8x-5 = 0 (2x+5)(2x-1) = 0 x = -5/2 or x = 1/2
2x + 5 - 5 = 2x. You can not solve for x because this is not an equation.
(2x - 1)(2x + 5)
Set up the equation and solve: 8x + 8 = 2x +38 (subtract 2x and 8 from both sides of the equation) 6x = 30 (divide both sides of the equation by 6) x = 5
8x - 5 = 2x + 5 Add 5 to both sides: 8x = 2x + 10 Subtract 2x from both sides: 6x = 10 Divide both sides by 6: x = 10/6 = 5/3 or 1.66... recurring.
(2x - 1)(2x + 5)
8x + 20 = 4 (2x + 5)
x2+8x = -3x2+5 4x2+8x-5 = 0 (2x+5)(2x-1) = 0 x = -5/2 or x = 1/2
2x + 5 - 5 = 2x. You can not solve for x because this is not an equation.
(2x - 1)(2x + 5)
Set up the equation and solve: 8x + 8 = 2x +38 (subtract 2x and 8 from both sides of the equation) 6x = 30 (divide both sides of the equation by 6) x = 5

8x^2 + 6x - 5 = 8x^2 + 10x - 4x - 5 = 2x * (4x + 5) - (4x + 5) = (2x -1) * (4x + 5)
-3x + 1
8x+4y=20 4y=-8x+20 y=-2x+5 f(x)=-2x+5
x=5
