(x -2)( x + 1)

NB This does NOT factor becasue '-2' X (+)1 = -2 ( as the middle term.

Since the middle term is '-1x' , then '-1' Not equal to '-2'.

However, x^(2) - x -2 does factor to

( x - 2)(x + 1)
