That's the formula for the problem. You have to get a math problem (i.e. 2x + 12y - 9 = 11). Then you must put it into function form. Function form is the y = mx + b. You get it so there is one y which equals to something x (it should be a fraction, if it's a whole # then put it over 1) plus something- it can be a negative #. What is being added is the Y intercept, which is where the dot is on your graph that's x coordinate is 0. The # is the y coordinate.
