Measure each of the other sides, and multiply each by itself (square them). Add the two squared sides. Then find the square root of that combined number. That is the length of the long side. If the short sides are 3 and 4, that would be 3x3=9, 4x4=16. 9+16= 25. Square root of 25 is 5- length of the long side (called the hypotenuse)
