Just by putting the numbers with the same first digits in groups e.g. 20 27 26 25, in one group and 37 34 39 38 in another, then order them lowest to highest, e.g. 20 25 26 27 and 34 37 38 39. then to draw the stem and leaf diagram its self you take one of the groups starting with the one with the lowest first digit and you put the first digit (the one you have grouped it by on the Left had side) so for the example this would be '2' or '3', these represent the group the numbers are in in this case the twenties or thirties, a line is then drawn next to the number and the second part of the number is entered e.g. for 27 the 7 would be put in fill in all the second digits of the numbers in ascending order on the right side of the first digit, with any numbers that are the same just being repeated. then do this for every group.
e.g.
2|0,5,6,7
3|4,7,8,9 Don't forget to write a key eg '2|5 represents 25'
and that's it, hoped this helped :)

A double stem and leaf plot is a stem and leaf plot but there is a number in the middle and one number on each side to distibute data
If you have between about 15 and 50 pieces of data, a stem-and-leaf plot is not tedious to make and will illustrate the distribution of the values. Once you have made a stem-and-leaf plot, it is easy to locate the median.

what profession, besides teaching, uses the stem and leaf plot?
