The whole number (if any) remains the same. The decimal portion gets divided by 100 and written as a fraction (x/100) where x=decimal portion.

Ex: 1.40 would become 1 40/100 or 1 2/5 after being reduced. So the model would

look like this written out: (whole number) (decimal portion)/100
