How do you order from least to greatest with negatives?

With a number line written with negatives on the left and positives on the right, a number is greater the further right (towards +∞) it is, and less the further left (towards -∞) it is.

Thus to order negatives numbers, the least negative number is the one whose absolute vale (that is the value ignoring the sign) is the greatest, and the greatest negative number is the one whose absolute value is the least. (All negative numbers are less than all positive numbers.)

eg ordering {-4, -5, -1, -3} in order least to greatest is {-5, -4, -3, -1};

eg ordering {4, -5, -1, -3} in order least to greatest is {-5, -3, -1, 4}.
