If you mean calculate numbers for 'x' and 'y', you can't do that
until you have another equation.
You need as many equations as the number of 'unknowns'.
What you have so far is the equation of a straight line graph, and
the 'x' and 'y' of every point on the line make the equation true.
3x+4 = 2x-3 3x-2x = -3-4 x = -7
172=x
3x + 4 = 5x - 6 -3x -3x 4 = 2x - 6 +6 +6 10 = 2x 5 = x
3x+5=4-2x+6 5x=4-1 5x=3 x=3/5
x = 4 and y = 0
3x + 4= 7 3x= 7-4 3x/3 = 3/3 x=1
3x+4 = 2x-3 3x-2x = -3-4 x = -7
x = 6
3x - 2 = 2x + 4 3x - 2x = 4 + 2 x = 6
3x+4=10 To solve: 3x+4=10 3x=6 x=2
3x + 2x = 5x. 5x= (-4) X = (-4)/5 x= -0.8
172=x
4 + 3x = -8subtract four from each side3x = -12divide each side by threex = -4
4+3x-27=-12 To solve it... 3x= -12-4+27 3x= 11 x= 11/3 x= 3.666
3x-4=5x+6 gives: 2x=-10 which gives x=-5
3x+4 = 5x-6 3x-5x = -6-4 -2x = -10 x = 5
3x + 4 = 5x - 6 -3x -3x 4 = 2x - 6 +6 +6 10 = 2x 5 = x
