Divide the top number by the bottom

2/4 = 0.5

To turn a fraction into a decimal you have to take the bottom number and divide it into the top number.

Example: 8/4 = 8 divided by 4 = 2.0

Example: 1/4 = 1 divided by 4, I know you can't divide that evenly, but all you have to do is this -->

First you have to put it down as if you are doing long division.

Next, you have to put down a decimal point after the #one inside

the garage thing for long division and after the decimal put a few

zeros and then copy the decimal above the line. Then divide 4

with the zeros, just like the zeros were there to begin with. You

just stop dividing when you get t zero and you have your answer.
