Automatic hand dryers are not sanitary for many reasons. First and foremost, most people do not dry their hands completely using the automatic dryers because they are in a hurry and end up wiping their hands on their clothing. Secondly, for the automatic hand dryers where you have to push a button, most people push them with their dirty hands. Lastly, public restrooms are just a hub for germs in the first place and half the people do not even wash their hands and touch the door knob. Knowing that most people do not wash their hands and touch the door knob it is preferable and more sanitary to have paper to use as a barrier for your clean hands against the germ infested door on the way out of the restroom.
