Yes. We agree with that.

What is the question ?

If the question is to find the values of 'a' and 'b', then there's no answer. Or rather,

there are an infinite number of answers. This is the equation of a straight line graph,

and every point on the line is a solution to the equation.

If you expect to be able to find a single number for 'a' and a single number for 'b',

then you need another equation in addition to this one. You always need as many

separate equations as the number of "unknown" things you're trying to find.

If the question is to re-arrange this equation to solve it for 'a' or 'b', we can show you

how to do that. We'll do one of them, and let you do the other one.

-24a - 36b = 90

We'll 'solve' this equation for 'a'. We're not changing anything.

We're just making it look different.

Add 24a to each side of the equation:

-36b = 90 + 24a

Subtract 90 from each side:

-36b - 90 = 24a

Divide each side by 24:

-(36/24)b - (90/24) = a

a = -1.5b - 3.75
