Well you first need your two numbers. I'm going to use 5 and 100 for an example.

1. Get your numbers

2. Put them in the dividing position:

___

5|100

3. To make dividing easier I just start seeing how many times 5 can go into each number.

___

5|100

___

5|100 (5 cannot go into 1)

_2_

5|100

(5 can go into 10 so see how many times it goes into 10, and put that number on top, lining up with the 0 in ten, not 0 in 100)

I know this is only 3 steps, but I feel that I don't need 5 steps. So I'll just finish solving this problem.

_20

5|100 <---- Bring 0 down

-10|

---------

00

- 0

----------

0 Keep going until you have 1 zero
