I would use 1/3 since 33.33...% is 1/3 of 100.

You would just divide 54 by 3. Not everyone is equally able to perform different degrees of difficulty of math in their head though.

I was able to divide 54 by 3 in my head to get 18. You simply divide 5 by 3 and get 1 in the tens place. Leaving a remainder of 24, which divided by 3 gives you 8 in the ones place. Its much simpler to do higher degrees of math mentally if you break the process into steps, like I did when finding the separate values for the tens and ones places.

Combining those together you get your answer of 18.
