On My motherboard I only have Regular pci slots I want a grpahics card that has 2.0 or higher pixel and vetex shader and I would like 256mb of video ram got any ideas?

Depending upon the age of the system, there are PCI graphics cards available that would give you 256MB of RAM. An example would be NVidia's 5200 or 5500 series. I have seen these cards available at Wal-Mart and Best Buy. ATI also makes PCI cards. Your Price Range is going to vary between $49 - $80. For AGP or PCI-X cards, you will need a newer motherboard. It is likely you will need a newer processor to move to PCI-X as many of the boards that support PCI-X require a different processor than those commonly found on HP Desktops made in the last 5 years. You cannot really get around this, if you want better performance, you will have to upgrade. Even upgrading has its hardware limitation.
