∙ 13y agoThere are two possible (and different) answers: 2x + 3y = 12 or 2*(x + 3y)= 12 The first one is (twice a number) increased by (three times another) The second is twice (a number increased by (three times another)).

"the sum of 2" and "twice" "a number" "is" "36"2+2x=36 â–
2n + 3
The number works out as 14
n + 2n = 3n
3a-6x2
2x - 16 = 3x/18

I'm not clear on what you're asking here, but if you want that written as an equation, it is: 2x - 3
the quotient of twice a number and six is.... 2x/6 four less than three times the same number is .... 3x-4 So the equation would be 2x/6=3x-4
What is the quotient of twice the number and three
This forms an equation which solves nicely: 2x-7 = x-1 x-7 = -1 x = 6
the sum of three numbers is 64. the second number is 3 less than the first number, the third number is 11 less than twice the first. what are the three numbers?
