The "range" is the set of all possible values of a function for the values of the variable.

For Statistical Data

The range is the difference between the greatest data value and the least data value of a set. To find the range of numbers you need to subtract the smallest listed value from the largest.

*If you have a set of numbers, it is the difference between the highest number and the lowest number.
It's when you have a set of data and you find the highest number and the lowest number and subtract them.
Where the lowest value in a set of data is subtracted from the largest piece of value.

3, 8, 15, 9, 45, 6

Range = 45-3 = 42
