-3
Solution Method:
------------------
1. Clarify the problem: What is the y-intercept of 6x-5y=15?
2. Recall what the "y-intercept" is: "the y-intercept is the y coordinate when the x value = 0 or the b value in the slope-intercept form (y = mx + b (b=the y-intercept value)) of the point-slope equation (y - y1 = m(x-x1).
3. Input the x coordinate into the equation & find the y value:
6(0)-5y=15
0-5y=15
-1/5 * -5y = 15 * -1/5
y = - 3 (this is your y-intercept value)
OR
when (y = mx + b), then b = the y-intercept value)
6x - 5y = 15
-6x - 5y = -6x + 15
-5y = -6x + 15
-1/5 * 5y = (-6x + 15) * -1/5
y = 6/5x - 3 (-3 = the y-intercept value)

A2.
I am assuming you mean 6x - 5y = 15. Since the y intercept is at x=0, plugging x=0 into the equation gives 6(0)-5y=15. Since 6(0)=0, this gives -5y=15. Dividing both sides by -5 gives y=-3. Remember, the y-intercept is a point, so, since x=0, the point is (0,-3).
A1?:
----------------------
Another way
----------------------
The equation is 6x - 5y = 15
The equation for graphing a line is y = mx + b where b is the y-intercept.
Try to get it in this form -
6x - 5y = 15 (Add 5y on both sides)
6x = 15 + 5y (Subtract 15 from both sides)
6x - 15 = 5y (Since we need to get a single y, divide both sides by 5)
(6x)/5 - (15)/5 = (5y)/5 (Simplify)
6/5x - 3 = y
Therefore, the slope is 6/5 and the y intercept is -3.
Good luck!
There is no slope nor intercept because there is no equation, simply an expression.
first of all, i dont see how slope and yintercept has anything to do with shopping. usually in an equation, y= mx+b, m stands for slope, and b is the y-intercept. x and y are just x and y. If the equation is mixed up, and is not in y=mx+b format, you need to solve to get y on one side, the slope, x, and whatever the presented constant is (which is the y-intercept) on the other side. hope this helps.
I shall do this one , but you must do the rest otherwise you will not learn. 2y = 8x - 2 is the given eq'n/ The straight line form is y = mx + c'. 'm' is the slope/gradient of the line 'c' is the y-intercept. So divide both sides by '2' ; this will result in 'y = ' Hence y = (8/2)x - 2/2 y = 4x - 1 is the straight line form of y = mx + c. So the slope is m = 4 The y-intercept is c = -1 NB for all linear equations this is the method. NNB Linear eq'n may appear in various forms. 2y = 8x - 2 2y - 8x = -2 2y - 8x + 2 = 0 y - 4x + 1 = 0 etc., So you need to algebraically rearrange into the y = mx + c form However, if there are powers of 'x' or 'y' it is NOT a straight line. Hope that helps!!!!

It shows the relationship of y in terms of x. [y = (yIntercept) + ((slope)*(x))] [slope = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)]
You can write it either in standard form (ax + by = c) or in slope-intercept form (y = mx + b)
Without the inclusion of an equality sign and not knowing the plus or minus values of the given terms it can't be considered to be a straight line equation

We know that the line passes through points (2, 2) and (0, 10) (since the y-intercept is 10).Using these two points, we can find the slope of the line,m = (10 - 2)/(0 - 2) = 8/-2 = 4/-1 = -4.Now by using the slope, m = -4, and the y-intercept, 10, we can write the equation of the line in the slope-intercept form, y = mx + b which isy = -4x + 10.
