NAB 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 were all owned by the Conservative MP Sir Gerald Nabarro (1913-73). Some also claim Sir Gerald owned NAB 6-10 also but this is not the case as these latter numbers no longer exist and no-one would dispose of a splendid block such as that.
Sir Gerald was known to all as 'Nab' and NAB1 was first acquired by him in the early 1950s and 2-5 after that - a little unusually Sir Gerald obtained the numbers all in numerical order.
