I have trouble in algebra because it is nearly impossible. Half the answers are no solution. I have an eight page finals test tomorrow that I am certainly going to bomb. I need to get at least a fifty on it to pass the class, like that is going to happen. The book shows us how to answer a certain type of problem than makes it as hard as it can bee by adding in extra parts to the question and doesn't tell us how to solve it. My friend is two classes ahead of me has no idea on how to do my homework.

Oh, please... How would being good at something make you bad at something else? That just doesn't make sense. Specifically in the case of calculus, you NEED math and algebra, so:If you have trouble with algebra, you will also have trouble with calculus, andIf you are good at algebra, your chances at calculus are much better.
The answer to the joke on page 11.5 of the Punchline Algebra book B is that the deck of cards was always in trouble because it was "decked out" or "dealt with" too many issues. This play on words uses the dual meanings of "deck" and the card-related context to create humor.
foundations algebra is probably pre algebra, which is before algebra, so no.
algebra 1a is the first part of algebra 1 and algebra 1b is the second part. :)
