Well, there is no telling if the mean and median are the same. It can be, but most of the time it's not. You can't tell, but I am only in 5th grade, so I might be wrong.
Mean is when you add up al the numbers then divide the sum by how many numbers there are. Median is the middle number put in order from least to greatest. Mode is the number that appears most often. By the way, I'm in sixth grade:)
The median of 65 and 90 is the same as their mean: 77.5The median of 65 and 90 is the same as their mean: 77.5The median of 65 and 90 is the same as their mean: 77.5The median of 65 and 90 is the same as their mean: 77.5
mean = 19.833... median = 19.5 mode = 19
There is only one way to find the median. if there is odd number of numbers for example.... 6,3,7,35,4,12,90 .... 35 would be the answer because it is in the middle no dividing. if there is an even number of numbers for example...... 3,78,4,6 .... the only way is to teach dividing first then mean, median, mode, and range. median, mode, mean, range are practically 5th grade concepts so give the second graders time to learn addition and subtraction and dividing and multiplying. an app called fast math is very helpful . otherwise to do the mean and there is two number in the middle, add them up and divide by 2. so add up 78+4 and divide by 2 always!.
The median would not change, but the mean would increase.

That would provide some evidence that the distribution is symmetric about the mean (or median).

The mean deviation from the median is equal to the mean minus the median.
Like, it shows a stat in a graph or group of things such as: the Median, range, Mode, Max, Min, Mean.
An outlier will pull the mean and median towards itself. The extent to which the mean is affected will depend on the number of observations as well as the magnitude of the outlier. The median will change by a half-step.

I use it in class when looking at my student's scores... Often I look at mean, median, and mode to decide to reteach a concept or not.
